Advances and challenges of ammonia delivery by urea-water sprays in SCR systems

چکیده

Over the past decades, selective catalytic reduction (SCR) using aqueous urea sprays as ammonia precursor has become prevalent technique for NOx emission control in mobile applications. Preparation of from water still represents a challenge aftertreatment engineering complex interactions multi-phase physics and chemical reactions have to be handled. Increasingly stringent legislations ongoing development fuel-efficient engines close-coupled systems raise high demands SCR systems. Due highly transient conditions short mixing lengths, incomplete spray evaporation can result liquid/wall contact formation solid deposits lowering selectivity homogeneity. This article reviews with focus on efficient decomposition injected homogeneous distribution front catalyst. Critical aspects impingement, liquid film deposit are pointed out potentials system optimization discussed.
